About The Great Lakes Antique Tractor Club

About The Great Lakes Antique Tractor Club.

The Great Lakes Two Cylinder Club was formed November 9, 1991. The club was composed of John Deere enthusiasts who got together once a month for a formal meeting or to join in a parade or tractor show.

The second annual Mackinaw Bridge crossing increased our membership. To cross the bridge you had to be a member of a club, and some of these members had other brands of tractors.

As time went by it was evident that the club needed to grow, so in November of 2009 it was decided to welcome members with other brands of tractors and change the name to The Great Lakes Antique Tractor Club.

Club Activities

  • We start the year off with a plow day, held in May. Club members bring their tractor and plow and we spend the whole day plowing except for an extended lunch break at noon. This is a great time to get this antique equipment out and do what it was intended to do when it was built.
  • On Memorial Day we parade our tractors in Buckley at their Memorial Day Parade.
  • The First Saturday in June we parade at the Mancelona Bass Festival.
  • On the 4th of July we attend the Greatest Fourth in the North parade in Lake City.
  • We strut our stuff at the Haggerty Insurance sponsored Car and Tractor Show.
  • Traverse City Cherry Royal Parade in July... We're there!
  • We attend the Harbor Days in Elk Rapids the first Saturday in August.
  • We attend the Buckley Old Engine Show the third weekend in August.
  • Labor Day Parade in Manton.
  • Mackinaw Bridge crossing in September.

*More activities are being planned, and will only add to all the fun we have as a club.
